About Us
Maxine has worked in the healthcare field as a licensed technologist for over 22 years, with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in Radiology and a Master of Science in Health Sciences in Health Care Management. I have been a patient for over 30 years. Michael has been a chef for 30-plus years, with over 20 years of cooking natural, vegan meals in his restaurant.
I served in the U.S. Air Force for 17 years, but had to retire because of severe pain that prevented me from fully performing my job. I later worked at a civilian hospital; still suffering from severe pains, I had to support my family.
We share our journey towards health and wellness, focusing on natural remedies and dietary changes. Emphasis on dietary changes. I’m now retired. I face chronic pain and various health issues that led me to explore natural foods and herbal remedies in Jamaica.
- Maxine’s Health Struggles: After serving in the U.S. Air Force and working in a civilian hospital, I continued experiencing debilitating chronic pain and a range of medical diagnoses, including fibromyalgia, degenerative joint and disc disease, neuropathy, just to name a few. I was becoming less mobile, which prompted me to seek natural healing methods.
- Natural Remedies and Healing: Together with my husband, Michael, we began consuming herbal teas and natural foods from our property, which we believe significantly improved my health and prevented further deterioration. Our goal is to teach others about using herbal remedies for pain relief and overall wellness.
- Being unable to maintain the physically demanding requirements of the job, I became desperate, wanting to feel like myself again. I decided to spend time in Jamaica instead of Arizona to rebuild my body with foods my ancestors ate, all natural foods. These foods are more beneficial genetically, based on what my ancestors consumed. I have been in constant, chronic pain since 2002.
I suffer from chronic pain in my neck, shoulders, lower back, sciatica, hips, knees, ankles, wrists, hands, elbows, tight muscles, muscle spasms, and constipation. The doctors diagnosed me with migraines, sinusitis, degenerative joint disease, degenerative disc disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, myofascial pain syndrome, repetitive motion injury, plantar fasciitis, insomnia, anxiety, and fibromyalgia.
When I went to Jamaica to get back to the natural foods I grew up eating, which is when I met my husband, Michael. I needed to access natural medicinal medicines and partake in my ancestral practices of healing. We decided to drink teas from plants that Mother Nature provided. As we looked around our property, I felt moved to certain leaves to harvest, allowing the leaves to dry and make teas with these leaves. Dried loose-leaf teas are steeped or boiled, from fruit trees, shrubs and plants grown on own property.
Based on my physical pain level and disabilities; few naturopaths and chiropractors stated that if I had not taken control of my body, I would have been wheelchair bound, the pain and suffering, which was progressively getting worse, to a point of being debilitated.
By virtue of my personal experience, I have experienced the direct effect of taking charge of my body, mind, and soul. We experienced it; and now aim to assist others. We will teach you about your body and how to use loose leaf teas, infused oils, blended herbal remedies to relieve pain and other physical ailments; naturally, to maintain the balance of your body systems. As a result, you will gain wisdom and knowledge as you journey towards a healthier lifestyle with us.
